Joseph Rozario’s Culinary Academy

Joseph Rozario’s Culinary Academy is a unique culinary experience which offers cooking classes to children in a safe environment that encourages discovery and creativity. Each visit to Academy is a new experience with fresh monthly themes and exciting new programs. Students sharpen their skills by employing the mantra, “Mise en Place” which, in the cooking world, translates into “Everything in its place.”

At Academy, we take the fear, mystery and the unknown out of cooking. In addition, each class and event incorporates supplemental subject matter which ties into each theme. Our staff of highly qualified teachers, chefs and nutritional experts carry out our mission to provide an interactive learning experience that gives children the opportunity to develop a life-long love for the culinary arts.

Class Offerings

Weekly Classes

Weekly Classes at Academy is a great opportunity to sharpen life-skills and stir-up creativity! Join us each week as we explore a veritable smorgasbord of dishes. Each month is based on a different theme with new recipes each week.

Not only will we be cooking, we will be plunging into knowledge from the basic cognitive subject areas. In truth, any recipe prepared at Academy is a chance to explore many topics of study in a fun and interactive setting. Our highly qualified staff of teachers and chefs are on hand to make each cooking class a memorable experience for the students. Parents will be surprised to watch as their “young chef” grows with confidence and knowledge as they create these recipes at home for them!

Each unique session is designed to familiarize children with diverse foods, while they experience what it feels like to create and taste scrumptious recipes themselves! Building self-confidence, creativity and a life-long skill are important ingredients to the programs.

These courses are designed to help young chefs explore cuisines while building upon basic skills.

Kinder Cooks

Where our youngest “Chefs in Training” are the main ingredient!

KinderCooks is a Academy program designed to accommodate our chefs ages 3-5. It incorporates recipes, age-appropriate culinary skills, basic nutrition, literature, and movement into a 1 – 1 ½ hour class, paced for the preschool attention span. The curriculum is prepared by our highly trained staff in monthly units and will consist of age appropriate themes such as:

Shapes, Community Helpers, Numbers, Colors, etc. Classes will be limited to 15 children with 1 teacher and 1 assistant.

Jr Chefs

This program is the core of the entire class program. The Jr. Chefs classes are designed for students’ ages 5/6 – 13/14 and offer a well-rounded approach to teaching children the skills necessary to develop their love of cooking.

Jr. Chefs Classes are designed to allow creativity to mesh with culinary techniques for exciting results!

Sr Chefs

These special Chefs classes were designed to accommodate those students who have met specific criteria and are looking for a more in-depth culinary experience. Students will assume more responsibility while developing new techniques and concepts.
